About
About Impact Founder Mission
A practical system for social founders who want to build clearer, more structured, more fundable projects — without the guesswork.
What Impact Founder Mission Is
Impact Founder Mission is a scorecard-based diagnostic and support system for early-stage social founders. It helps you identify exactly where your project sits across five areas that funders, commissioners and partners consistently care about: clarity of purpose, evidence of impact, delivery structure, credibility, and funding fit.
The diagnostic is free and takes around three minutes. At the end, you receive a personalised score with a breakdown of your strongest and weakest areas, practical recommendations, and a clear sense of what to focus on next.
Beyond the diagnostic, Impact Founder Mission offers the Fundability System — a set of practical tools that help you build the documents and thinking a funder expects to see — and the Strategy Session, a focused one-to-one with Julian Hall for founders who need personalised guidance.
Who It's For
Social enterprises and CICs at an early or pre-funding stage
Registered charities building a case for grant or trust funding
Youth and community projects with limited formal structure
Mission-led founders who have good ideas but struggle to articulate them in funder language
The Problem
Many early-stage social projects fail to secure support — not because the idea is bad, but because it is under-evidenced, poorly structured, or framed in a way that does not land with the people making funding decisions.
Funders, commissioners and corporate partners are looking for clarity: a defined problem, a logical theory of change, credible evidence, realistic delivery plans, and governance that can withstand scrutiny. Most early-stage founders have not been shown how to build this, so they either talk around it or borrow language that sounds right but doesn't hold together under review.
The result is rejection, frustration, and stalling — sometimes for years — despite having an idea that genuinely deserves support.
The Solution
Impact Founder Mission is designed to give early-stage founders the same clarity that experienced social entrepreneurs develop after years of trial and rejection — but faster and without the wasted time.
- The Fundability Diagnostic: A 15-question scorecard that benchmarks your project across five core areas and gives you an honest, structured picture of where you stand.
- The Fundability System: A set of practical tools — business plan builder, theory of change, funding strategy planner, and structure guide — that help you build the documents a funder expects to see.
- The Strategy Session: A focused one-to-one with Julian Hall. For founders who need a clear plan, an honest assessment, and practical steps from someone who has been through the process.
Who Built This
Impact Founder Mission was built by Julian Hall, founder and CEO of Ultra Education CIC. Julian has raised approximately £3.1M for Ultra Education since its inception and has spent over a decade supporting young entrepreneurs, social enterprises, charities and mission-led organisations across the UK.
He created Impact Founder Mission to solve a problem he encountered repeatedly: talented, motivated founders with good ideas and genuine commitment who were not securing support because their projects lacked the structure, evidence and framing that funders expect.
